Megan is a former high school and college club basketball player who joined the Half Moon Bay High School coaching staff as an assistant coach in 2023. In 2024, she stepped into the role of Head Coach, bringing an enthusiasm for athletics and a strong commitment to helping young women grow through competitive sports.
Megan is passionate about building a positive, competitive team culture and inspiring athletes to reach their full potential both on and off the court. Beyond coaching the high school team, she loves introducing basketball to young players on the Coast and supporting local athletics at every level.
When she's not in the gym, you'll likely find her cheering on local sporting events, spending time with her dog, Luna, or enjoying just about anything that involves a little friendly competition.
Gabe comes from a longtime Half Moon Bay family and proudly played basketball at Half Moon Bay High School before continuing his playing career at the collegiate level. He joined the Half Moon Bay High School coaching staff as an assistant coach in 2021, served as Head Coach for two seasons, and now continues to support the program as an assistant coach.
Gabe is passionate about developing student-athletes and helping them grow both on and off the court. Known for his calm demeanor, steady leadership, and quick sense of humor, he brings a positive presence to every practice and game. His lifelong love of basketball, combined with his deep roots in the Coastside community, make him an invaluable part of the program.
Outside of basketball, Gabe enjoys golfing with his son, Gavin, cheering on his children, Gavin and Makena, in all of their athletic pursuits, and always having the perfect meme or reel ready to share at just the right moment.
Our coaching staff regularly includes current and former Half Moon Bay High School players, creating a program built on connection, mentorship, and community. We believe one of the greatest strengths of our program is the example our older athletes set for the next generation. Their leadership, encouragement, and willingness to invest in younger players have helped create a culture where girls support one another both on and off the court.
The relationships formed during our youth clinics naturally extend into the high school season. Young players who spend time learning from our varsity athletes become some of their biggest fans, filling the stands to cheer them on throughout the year. As they watch the games, hear the roar of the crowd, and see the excitement of representing Half Moon Bay, they begin to imagine themselves wearing that jersey one day.
